Avoiding writing document by reading article about procrastination. Next: finding the exact definition of irony.

10. Procrastination. Some people are unable to act without pressure. They may also look for little things to do in order to put off the big ones.

Team Jizz Mustache, assemble!

We node.js. We Rails Rumble. Combining the two, we got:
Node.js Knockout — a 48-hour node.js coding contest.

Register now!
before it’s too late

August 28 – 29, 2010

about 2 months from now

The coding phase of the competition will begin at Saturday, August 28, 12am GMT and end exactly 48 hours later at Monday, August 30, 12am GMT.

The contest format will be similar to Rails Rumble:

  • Build any web project you can imagine;
  • In 48 hours, starting from scratch;
  • With a team of up to 4;
  • Using node.js and whatever else you want;

To amaze and delight your audience and expert judges, and to earn prizes and glory! More details are coming soon about rules, judging, and prizes.

Contestants may participate from anywhere in the world, but all code must be stored on GitHub, and contest entries must be deployed to Joyent or Heroku. GitHub, Joyent, and Heroku will all be providing free services as sponsors during the competition.

node.js isn’t just another MVC web framework. It’s at the bleeding edge of a technology stack that allows developers to blur the lines between software, the web, and the new like never before.

Whatever the contest winners are, we suspect they won’t look like traditional websites.

How can I help?

For now, spread the word. Recruit your friends for a team. Start thinking of ideas.

If you're interested in sponsoring, judging, or helping out in some other way, definitely drop us a line.
